I've migrated to BlueSky, not for political reasons, but because X (nee Twitter) is simply uninteresting, overrun with bots and scheduled posts, and, largely, a waste of time. I'm at https://t.co/lTXxpwF48B… now, and intend to close this account eventually
@james_batera_jb@elonmusk That's sure some creative logic right there, because the Executive cannot do everything, it's a judicial dictatorship? Could it not be because the Executive is doing something that is contrary to federal law, or, worse, the Constitution?
@elonmusk Umm.. dude, no, that's called a democracy, whereby each branch of government has separate powers and responsibilities and there is the separation of powers to provide checks on power and to prevent absolute power.
@acwyau@SimpliiFin I disagree it was a complete fail in the sense of the lime green and hot pink colour scheme, as your tweet seems to indicate. Those are great colours! It was a fail, in my view, in the sense of not having a graphical element to accompany the logotext and their messaging. :)
@giustini You're likely kidding, but a major Internet search company buying EBSCO (or ProQuest) would not be a bad thing instead of being perennially passed from one private equity firm to another (granted, EBSCO has had more consistent ownership than ProQuest)
This is actually a great thing. More companies should start doing this. Yahoo! used to do it. I had no idea Twitter had that many completely inactive usernames. Admittedly, my Twitter account is quite dormant, but with this retweet, I do not have to worry about this :)
@giustini More likely the latter, if either of the two options, to be honest. It's pretty apparent that as far as the Alberta NDP is concerned, Danielle Smith as UCP leader is their best hope of sweeping Calgary and, thus, being returned to office (and exacerbating the urban/rural divide)
@acoyne True. CBC would see a boost in its ratings for its "The National" program, if they replaced their anchor team with Lisa LaFlamme...not enough to dethrone CTV National News with Omar Sachedina from its #1 spot, but they would at least see improvement to Peter Mansbridge levels
@Ohfortheloveo This is not an appropriate venue for this. Please e-mail the details of this request to stewards[at]miraheze[dot]org, and I'll try and take a look shortly
2 ½ years, 61 credits, 20 courses, taught by 14 different instructors, and who knows many words, later, and my @langaracollege Library & Information Technology Diploma is complete. Many thanks to those instructors (incl. @giustini) and students. #libtech#covid19grad#covidgrads
@tmccormick I'm a Miraheze community steward, and we do have a process in our Dormancy Policy whereby wiki bureaucrats can request their wiki, having sufficient content and not actively edited, be exempt from Dormancy Policy. I'm willing to exempt your wiki indefinitely, if asked
@tmccormick@miraheze@GroundWatchNews@housing_wiki@creativecommons@tmccormick I'm a Miraheze community steward, not sure what the issue is here, but all wiki users agree to make their wikis licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0 when they request a wiki. You can, optionally, change your wiki's license to a proprietary license ... [1/2]
@EricBalchunas Interesting. And apparently Canadian provincial securities regulators are in the process of establishing, or have just established, a Canadian depository receipts programme. Likely not related as foreign ETF issuers can buy Canadian ETFs in Canada, but interesting nonetheless
@rjptoronto Grabbing diner as in you're buying or investing in a local diner, or do you mean grabbing dinner at a local diner? (Assuming you meant the latter, but you never know. :P)
