it’s in gemini, just create it in ai studio. oh, that’s for your personal google one account. for workspace you need gemini business. no, not gemini advanced, that’s ai pro now. unless you need ai ultra. oh agents? you do that in spark actually. no, not gemini api managed agents, that’s different. for coding use jules. unless you mean the agentic ide, that’s antigravity. no, that’s the old antigravity, download the new one. actually gemini cli is being deprecated, use antigravity cli. no the flash model is smarter than the pro model. unless you need pro. if it’s video, use flow. no, flow uses veo. no, nano banana is images. actually that’s in gemini now. unless you’re in search, then it’s ai mode. no, research is notebooklm. anyway it’s all very simple.
I tell GPT 5.5, you are a manager, not a coder. Find the issues to solve and delegate to other agents. Do not write any code yourself.
It does so for a while. I think "good GPT" and log off, I let it do its long running tasks with its team of subordinates.
I log on an hour later and check in.
GPT 5.5 is coding alone, its sub agents diligently waiting for orders.
No STOP, I say, you are a manager. You MUST NOT code.
My bad, says GPT 5.5, got it, I must manage, not code.
One hour later, GPT 5.5 is coding.
But it's OK GPT, I get you. For I am also guilty. No matter how many times a coder is told they are a manager, in their heart of hearts, they are still a coder.
So I tell Claude Opus 4.7...
no one warns you that if you spend too many years as a frontend engineer, you will spend the rest of your life repulsed by minor misalignments in the physical world. my neighbor's slightly uncentered window haunts me
🚨NEW DOC ALERT🕹️
After over 18 months of research, interviews & editing our Disco Elysium series is here.
In this first episode we focus on the cultural and personal foundations of the world of Elysium.

10 years ago, deep learning was in its infancy. PyTorch didn't exist. Language models were recurrent, and not large. But it felt important: a new technology that would change everything.
That's why @drfeifei , @karpathy, and I started @cs231n back in 2015 - to teach the world's best deep learning class and make these new ideas accessible to everyone.
A lot has changed since then. But this year I was honored to return to the classroom for the 10th anniversary of cs231n and teach a new generation of students alongside @drfeifei, @eadeli, and Zane Durante.
As usual, lecture videos are free for all to enjoy:

After 3+ years, today is the day that my book “The Worlds I See” gets to see the world itself. It is a science memoir of the intertwining histories of me becoming an #AI scientist, and the making of the modern AI itself. All versions are now on Amazon https://t.co/1oH2vCjovu 1/
excited to finally share on arxiv what we've known for a while now:
All Embedding Models Learn The Same Thing
embeddings from different models are SO similar that we can map between them based on structure alone. without *any* paired data
feels like magic, but it's real:🧵
Some org cultures are PM Dominated:
In such a culture, PMs call all the shots, are seen as the sole source of what needs to be built & why, other functions such as Eng & Design mostly work in service of the PMs & “The Business”.
While some PMs want to work in such orgs, you should understand that they almost never build very good products. Largely because these other functions are not allowed nor incentivized to care deeply about the user experience and the end business outcomes. They are repeatedly asked to “stay in your lane” when they bring up questions, concerns, ideas about why we are building what we are building.
No matter how great a given PM is, that greatness cannot overcome the resulting apathy of the other functions who are directly designing, building, and marketing the product.
That’s why a PM Guided culture is much better for ambitious PMs than a PM Dominated culture.
Here’s what you can do as a leader to move your team / org from PM Dominated to PM Guided:

So Apple has introduced a new system called “Private Cloud Compute” that allows your phone to offload complex (typically AI) tasks to specialized secure devices in the cloud. I’m still trying to work out what I think about this. So here’s a thread. 1/
I’m excited to share that I’m working on a new book about building applications with foundation models! AI Engineering builds upon Machine Learning Systems Design, but with a focus on large scale, ready made models.
The book covers:
- The new AI stack (e.g. how it differs from traditional ML engineering)
- Different approaches to evaluate open-ended systems
- Dataset engineering
- Prompt engineering, RAG, agents
- Finetuning
- Compute infrastructure, including how to mitigate latency and cost
AI Engineering is scheduled for late 2024. The first 3 chapters are available on the O'Reilly platform: https://t.co/8YrSmUH9qw
I’ve learned a lot during the research and writing process for this book. I hope you’ll find the learnings useful. Feedback is much appreciated!
Several Africans were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on Tatarstan. Russia is now exploiting the attack to spark anti-Ukrainian feelings. If anything, however, this incident can elucidate a gendered and racialized reality behind Russia's charm offensive in Africa. 🧵
My grandpa who is 85 started making this rock map of Scotland in 1992.He collected rocks during amateur geology trips over 30 years. He says it had to be geologically correct and also aesthetically pleasing. He asked if I could share online as He wants to go viral so please share
During the Munich conference I was asked why I am so gloomy. Well, somebody has to tell it like it is, so here’s how it is: Things are not going well. 🧵

What are the best #ABTesting videos you’ve seen?
I looked for those videos that were over 10 minutes and had more than 100 thumbs-up per year since they were uploaded to YouTube.
Here’s the hand-curated list: https://t.co/siVjy0XyUA
What did I miss?

Please help me protect life in Ukraine. Russia has targeted Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure. This means the water supplies and energy supplies that people need to stay alive, especially throughout the winter. Last winter Russia tried to freeze the Ukrainians. 1/
