パラオから記載されたカエルハゼ属（𝘚𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘺𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘴）の一種。本種の模式産地はパラオですが、ニューギニア、ソロモン諸島、バヌアツ、ニューカレドニアなどにも分布しています。

本種は黄褐色の体色をもち、背部には数本の黒色鞍状斑が見られます。背鰭には多数の黒色小斑が散在し、鰭縁は黄色です。また、カエルハゼ（𝘚. 𝘭𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘴）と同様に、成熟した雌は鮮やかな赤い腹部をもちます。

𝐴𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑖𝑎 𝑐𝑎𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑎 sp. nov. (Teleostei: Gobiidae) is described based on 21 specimens (32.3–70.2 mm SL) collected from the Strait of Malacca near Penang Island, Malaysia. 𝐴𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑖𝑎 𝑐𝑎𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑎 is described by the following combination of characters: second dorsal fin I,10; anal fin I,9; pectoral fin rays 17–18; segmented caudal fin 16, in 9/7 pattern; lateral scales 28–30; transverse scale counts backward (TRB) usually 9–10; predorsal scales 0–6; cheek and opercle naked; 3–5 irregular rows of rounded bluish spots on lateral side above midline, less aligned in females and juveniles. 𝐴𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑖𝑎 𝑐𝑎𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑎 is mostly similar to its sympatric congener 𝐴𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑖𝑎 𝑐𝑦𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑚𝑜𝑠 (Bleeker 1849). However, 𝐴. 𝑐𝑎𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑎 can be distinguished from the latter by six or less predorsal scales (versus 10 or more), 3–5 irregular rows of iridescent bluish spots along side (versus 6–8 longitudinal rows of spots), spots never overlapped with brown blotches along midline (versus occasionally overlapped). The minimum cytochrome oxidase subunit I-based genetic distance between the two species is 11.8%.

𝗘𝘁𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆
The specific epithet 𝑐𝑎𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑎 derives from the Latin 𝑐𝑎𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑢𝑠 (blue) and 𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑠 (starred). It refers to the conspicuous pattern of scattering vivid bluish spots restricted to the dorsal half of the body. The name 𝑐𝑎𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑎 is treated as a noun in the genitive.

𝗔𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁
The tributaries of the Klasafet River System (KRS) in Sorong, Papua, Indonesia, support diverse freshwater fish communities but remain poorly documented despite increasing anthropogenic pressure. This study assesses the diversity, distribution, and conservation status of freshwater fishes across KRS tributaries to provide a baseline for conservation planning.

Surveys conducted at 22 sites representing rivers, streams, creeks, and ponds recorded 22 species from eight orders and 18 families, comprising 14 native and eight non-native species. Based on their conservation status, 18 species were classified as Least Concern (LC), while 𝑍𝑒𝑛𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑠 𝑜𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑝ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑎 Collette, 1985, was categorised as Vulnerable (VU), 𝑀𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑎 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑘𝑖 (Fowler, 1939) as Near Threatened (NT), 𝑀𝑜𝑜𝑙𝑔𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑎 𝑡𝑎𝑑𝑒 (Fabricius, 1775) as Data Deficient (DD), and 𝐺𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑠𝑜𝑔𝑜𝑏𝑖𝑢𝑠 𝑠𝑝. 3 as Not Evaluated (NE). Species richness and diversity were highest in forested streams and minimally disturbed tributaries, whereas introduced fishes dominated oil palm plantation-associated creeks and ponds. Non-native species, particularly 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑎 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑡𝑎 (Bloch, 1793) and 𝑃𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑢𝑠 𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑠 (Bleeker, 1849), were widespread and abundant, indicating increasing pressure on native assemblages. In contrast, endemic and habitat-specialist species were primarily restricted to clear, well-oxygenated waters with intact riparian vegetation.

These findings highlight the conservation importance of the KRS tributaries and emphasise the need for riparian protection, maintenance of hydrological connectivity, and effective management of non-native species to safeguard freshwater fish biodiversity in this region.

Makanya Gereja awal itu penuh dengan kontroversi and rigorous debates, tapi justru dari situlah penegasan mengenai Orthodoxia atau ajaran yang benar terbentuk.

Jadi, iman yang kita terima hingga hari ini itu bukan hasil dari pola pikir yang “Percaya saja” tapi dari scrutiny, criticism, and philosophy.

That’s the beauty of Christianity.
