Chagai: Reported Attack on Police Station in Barabcha area

According to sources, the armed men took control of the police station and detained the police personnel present there. The attackers reportedly seized weapons and other military equipment from the station.

The leadership of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), including organizer Dr. Mahrang Baloch, central leader Shajee Baloch, Bebarg Baloch, and activists Gulzadi Baloch and Beebow Baloch, has begun a hunger strike while in the custody, while Shah Jee and Beebagr are already suffering from multiple health conditions and physical disabilities. This extreme step has been taken as a form of resistance against ongoing abuse and torture inside prison cells, where they are being held for their peaceful political activism.

These individuals have not committed any crime but have been targeted for speaking out against grave human rights violations such as enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and systemic violence against the Baloch people. Despite their commitment to peaceful protest, the state has responded with force ranging from false charges and unlawful arrests to brutal police action and, now, torture behind bars.

The hunger strike is a desperate response to repression. The physical well-being and lives of these political prisoners are at serious risk. If any harm comes to them, it will escalate the unrest in Balochistan.
