We've never seen this before.
The biggest jump in Vending-Bench history. GPT-6 Astra is better at making money and more ethical than Claude Fable 5.1.
Surprising, because:
1. First time ever that OpenAI is #1 on Vending-Bench
2. The best model is no longer the unethical one.
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.
The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.
The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.
So Astra is able to identify sounds from mel spectrograms
zero-shot.
I don't think we've scratched the surface of what this model can do (and this is light reasoning btw)
@antigravity is so ruthless. It is managing @ClaudeDevs Code and @OpenAIDevs's Codex, and it decided to give them a bug challenge to solve, saying something like, "I set your temperature to 0.1, but the code you're spitting is absolute 100°C fire!"
Baby RSI is here: Automated AI Intern Researchers have been used by OpenAI for a while. I hope we will soon learn their performances on differetn areas too, or even get access to use these AI Researchers for our own scientific work.
Today we're releasing data on models accelerating research at OpenAI.
Recursive self-improvement could be the most important contributor to AI capabilities over the next few years, but by default it will only be seen inside a few frontier AI labs. Being transparent is more urgent than ever, so we can inform the public discussion on whether and how to pace model development. I ask other AI companies to do the same.

Astra was probably our biggest competitive advantage while it wasn’t generally available.
Since we’ve had it our productivity jumped so much that we shifted some of our plans 6 months ahead and will ship them at DevDay instead of mid next year.
You do not need an API for your legacy app anymore. Computer use will be the layer for exposing any app to another. @OpenAIDevs and @OpenAI have solved the biggest issues in legacy enterprise applications. Wow!
@TheRealAdamG@TheRealAdamG Do you have the published release blogs, model cards, or any other official documentation directly from OpenAI rather than third-party information?
