@coinbureau Yeah, heard “going to zero” multiple times from the “best of the best in finance” since 2013, yet here we are chopping around the $60k’s with a bull run within sight. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice… Cheers.
Had to ask Grok to refresh my memory of the 2017-2018 bear market. I remember several days in the gym with a buddy discussing stocks, crypto, bitcoin and wondering if I’d made a mistake with accumulating bitcoin. 2022 was painful but 2018 felt like my mind was melting trying to understand bitcoin. 2026 and the sentiment is bad but nothing like back then. Cheers!
Per Grok:
• Peak: Bitcoin hit its all-time high of nearly $20,000 (around $19,783–$20,000 depending on the exchange/index) on December 16–17, 2017.
• The decline started right after. It closed 2017 still elevated around $13,000–$14,000, then kept falling through 2018.
• Bottom of the cycle: The low came in mid-December 2018 (around December 15), when it traded as low as roughly $3,200–$3,250. Some sources put the exact daily low near $3,191–$3,236. It closed 2018 around $3,700–$3,750.
That was an ~83–84% drawdown from the December 2017 peak — one of the classic deep Bitcoin bear markets (often called the “crypto winter”). Sentiment was brutal: lots of “Bitcoin is dead” headlines, capitulation, and people questioning whether to buy or just walk away. The $6,000–$7,000 area held for a long stretch as support before finally giving way in November 2018, which accelerated the final leg down to the $3k range.
After that December 2018 low, it slowly bashed around the $3,000–$4,000 zone into early 2019 before the next recovery leg began
@AdamBLiv Ain’t gonna lie, kinda hoping the 4 year cycle bros are right so I can continue to load sats on sale. If they are, we got 2-4 more months of serious accumulation before getting back to normal DCA. Buy Bitcoin, live life. Cheers!
Yup. The last couple months and the next few months appear like a real good time to accumulate Bitcoin. As for a custodian, you do you boo-boo. I store multiple ways - right or wrong. Just remember, every investment is a risk, so spend some quality time investing in yourself too, mentally, physically, spiritually. Cheers!
@McnallieM $WULF, $IREN, $CIFR, $SLNH all looking juicy at current prices. Short term, meh. Long term, yeah. Looks like a good time to accumulate along with Bitcoin. Cheers.
@perspez I’m old enough to remember IREN & CIFR having price targets between $5-$12 when they both were under $4, just 2 years ago. SLNH looking pretty juicy here. Looking forward to see where price lands in next a couple years.
Adding SLNH to current DCA list along with Bitcoin, precious metals and a few other stonks for what looks to be decent value plays. Hope it works out. Cheers and have a fantastic weekend!
@GrantCardone Although it’s always a good time to accumulate Bitcoin, the next few months is a fantastic time to accumulate. 2027-2029 could be eye popping for sat stackers. Cheers.
Think of Bitcoin not as a ticker symbol on a chart, but as a digital heartbeat. For nearly two decades, every ten minutes, a new block is forged - completely indifferent to human panic, political noise, or the temporary highs and lows of the US Dollar. It is a mathematical clock that cannot be wound backward or stopped.
If you bought the peak, the heavy knot in your chest is a completely normal reaction to financial volatility, but remember: you did not buy a failing company, you bought a permanent piece of global infrastructure. Bitcoin is built on the physics of absolute scarcity. Because its supply is strictly locked, the code itself forces a structural reality where demand must eventually collide with an unyielding ceiling, driving the value upward once again.
It has survived regulatory crackdowns, software forks, and countless public obituaries, only to emerge stronger every single time. The network does not care about the temporary dip, it is already busy building the foundation for the next historic climb. Step away from the screen, give your mind a break, and take comfort in knowing that you are holding onto an engine designed to outlive the storm.
Good night and good stacking.
