@SlotinCapital If this is a genuine offer of a straight swap of SOH opening for an alleviation of the blockade it is still a fairly material concessional step from Iran vs the prior stance. If it’s even real of course. And assuming there’s no other riders.
@najam_ali Trump thinks the democrats will starve his war of funds and so thinks this is his last chance to achieve something? Speculation btw - I am not at all sure he restarts.
@gbrew24@tylermacro10 Thanks. Do you have any thoughts as to why the White House think the outcome of attacks this time might be different to the last times they’ve attacked or if this new attack might differ from what’s gone before?

@SamKovX Not that I have much on the minds of these cretins but hasn’t the history of Trump 2.0 suggested he has an oil price range within which he is comfortable and he makes moves when they are at the low end (hawkish = sanctions / attacks) or upper end (dovish = TACOs) of that range?
@policytensor@astrayskydiver@josephwang Right. So the question then boils down to whether the us prioritises their infrastructure or oil flow. That’s a bit different to the market consensus that escalation stops oil flow. Don’t get me wrong - im long oil. I’m just wondering where I could be wrong.
@HFI_Research@phileeppos That can be true whilst still leaving room for the thesis that Iran is less able to restrict flows than we originally thought.
@policytensor@josephwang Or is the assumption simply that the us care more about military bases than oil flow and so can be threatened? That could be possible but i am not sure I have conviction on that.
@policytensor@josephwang Thanks for responding. What is it that they need to hit if not tankers? And if so why aren’t they doing that now? I’m honestly not trying to troll-this is a genuine question. But if Iran is trying but failing to stop oil then doesn’t a lot of the downside risk drop out of markets
@AdiSurreyEnergy@Rory_Johnston Given this logic. Does anyone have idea why Kyiv has stopped attacking refineries? Is it because they can’t without US support or because they won’t (for now)?
