Since the #climate change projections indicate a substantial increase in temperatures in Spain and more than a third of all deaths caused by heat may be attributable to global warming, Spain must set as a priority to develop an adaptation strategy to climate change.
The #mortality burden from moderate cold shows an almost 3-fold reduction, from 6.1% in 1979–1988 to 2.4% in 2009–2018. Nevertheless, the mortality risk attributable to moderate and extreme heat was almost 2 times larger in women than in men and did not decrease over time.
