@Sevenofnot@focusfronting she wrote two articles about it in 10 years, that's hardly a "my child goes to an under-resourced school" youtube channel. if every well off family made the choice she did, i think the schools would be a lot different. someone has to be the first to live by their principles
@JacobAShell This is either not true or very oversimplified. Sugar maples are a late successional species, some other maple species like red or boxelder are early. But sugar maples are extremely shade tolerant.
"wherever he goes, he wants to leave"-- that's because when he gets there, he has brought his own self along; & whatever club he's invited to join has been devalued by the invitation.
but even cartoons back then used to be clever and full of imagination, think of old looney tunes. now it's just infinite 20 second videos of influencers overexplaining the most boring outfits or makeup, andrew tate, and ads. and you didn't watch tv during school.
Kids used to watch an insane amount of TV, both actively and passively channel surfing, even just on as background noise. I doubt a lot of younger zoomers fully grasp how much TV people used to watch, but it's important missing context for the social media/phone use moral panics.
So this idiot thinks cancer research is like “here is how to stop tumor growth” and not, like, the minutia of a single transcription factor and chromatin structure
Academic journals might be a lost cause but they'd probably be better if you had some non-academic practitioners serving as reviewers. Journalists have their problems too but they have much better bullshit detectors, for instance.
i have never heard jewish religious observances called "ceremonies" (it's "services"). similar to when josh shapiro talks about his "faith." they're using christian framing and christian terms, i guess that's who they're actually talking to.
i am so mad about students using AI to write their papers. i've had you in classes for 3 years, u think i can't tell when your writing style changes completely??? also, u wrote an 8 page intro that said nothing specific to your topic & the entire paper was supposed to be 8 pages

Think of how your teachers & peers will challenge & enrich you—no matter how hallowed the halls you’ve already walked.

nameberry (baby name website) charted the reddest vs bluest baby names (meaning: highest disparity in red states vs blue states) and it extremely interesting data:
@ZaidJilani I hate to tell you but your BA in international affairs does not make you a genius. Even people without an undergraduate degree are capable of learning a new word.
Not trying to be funny, but this isn’t a good title for the tour. A lot of the people you’re trying to reach don’t know what oligarchy means, and certainly not within the context of their everyday life.
