Do you have data and software-related questions? Are you looking to share your data and/or software? Are you interested in tools for working with your data or for finding data to reuse? The #AMS2024 Open Science & Data Help Desk is here for you. https://t.co/ELcxxIdvKb
Reminder to stop by the @ametsoc Technology and AI mixer tonight, sponsored by the @ams_eipt
board + associated committees as well as Raytheon/RTX! 6:30 PM in the Saint James Ballroom at the Hilton Riverside!
New MetPy Monday! Extract and visualize weather data from GRIB files with Python! Get point forecasts with just a few lines of code! https://t.co/OJU0bdwPEc
Curious about our student opportunities like fellowships and internships? Stop by our #AGU24 conference booth to chat with reps from renowned programs like NSF SOARS, SIParCS, NESSI, UCAR Next Gen Fellows, and more!
Conference schedule: https://t.co/sq6WlzYWO0
Join us in #agu24 Room 206 at 12:30 today for our Town Hall to learn more about @NCAR_Science advanced computing, data services and educational resources for earth system science. We’d also like to learn how we can tailor our services to serve you better!
Due to the #LakeShoreFire, the NSF NCAR Mesa Lab campus and the road to the building are CLOSED to staff and the public as of 5 p.m. today (Wed, July 31) until further notice. We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates. Follow @BoulderOEM for wildfire updates. #COwx
A big update to ARCO-ERA5 landed this week -- we now have a copy of ERA5 on native vertical levels with regular 0.25° horizontal resolution.
This ~6 PB dataset is freely available as part of Google's public datasets program:

More access options for @ECMWF@CopernicusECMWF#ERA5! We have created a mirror copy of our ERA5 dataset curated as netCDF-4 files https://t.co/K93yRqTxX3 to @awscloud at https://t.co/lrwRIRc1YC This dataset will be updated on a monthly basis with a 3 month lag from real-time.
New #AIFS blog: Enter the ensembles!
Our AIFS team introduce a first version of an ensemble AIFS, explain how it works, show some early results and explain where you can view charts.

As a reminder, a prebuilt set of NetCDF4 files representing the JRA-3Q atmospheric reanalysis dataset is being staged adjacent to our copy of the #ERA5 dataset, with all of the same access capabilities provided: @unidata THREDDS, @globus, and https://t.co/ljwm17TP3J
For those interested in alternative mechanisms to access the @CopernicusECMWF#ERA5 atmospheric reanalysis dataset, try the @unidata THREDDS or @globus services provided to access to our prebuilt set of #era5 netcdf4 files in https://t.co/K93yRqU5MB
For the best access to #ERA5, most US University researchers can request free computing allocations on @NCAR_Science@NCAR_CISL data analysis resources: https://t.co/ljwm17UmTh
New blog post: Matthew Chantry and the #AIFS team provide an update on our AIFS #MachineLearning model, including the addition of precipitation fields and open data for all. ➡️ https://t.co/tG6wO1Ijur
