That app I was talking about being in a 9 year private beta finally got approved by the @AppStore. It's called Omnom and it's been our family's food operating system for almost a decade. Here's why I love it ๐งต
Something I've noticed:
If I've thought about a feature for a while I can prompt my way to ship a 100k line change in a 12 hour day safely - it will work in production and not be full of tech debt.
If I haven't, a 1000+ line change is dangerous and likely to need a rewrite
Paper Mono!
sooo excited to finally release our free and beautiful mono font
it works incredibly well for design, coding, and even prose, and itโs packed with features: variable font weight, coding ligatures, duospacing (!) for long-form text, and more.
sound on:
Set up an @OpenAI Dot. Called it, sent an email to schedule a coffee. It's the closest thing to a personal assistant that I've seen so far.
I know that all of these agents can do it but I just trust OAI more than the others and that goes a long way.
Talked with a company where, a year ago they had unlimited AI budgets + CEO is technical and very bullish in AI
โWe now have a daily budget limit for SOTA models. Use Fable and Astra only for planning, cheaper models are good enough for everything else.โ
Want to stress this is an โAI-pilledโ company, and not one that ever looked at AI budgets, before.
If anyone doesn't know: There's a standard called Simplified Technical English for clear, concise technical language. If you demand your agents talk in STE you will not get word vomit - they mostly adhere to the instruction since it's in training data
There are lots of differences between @bot and @ChatGPT Codex in coordinating agents, but chief among them is feel.
@bot feels frenetic and @ChatGPT 6 Astra feels more composed.
Having too much fun playing with tech these days!
My favorite thing are "best practices" posts for tools that are days old for two reasons:
1. It just came out. The idea that anyone knows what they're doing yet is hilarious.
2. This knowledge is going to be out of date in a couple of days.
