There is a real importance of individual experience and subjective truth, which must be personally appropriated and lived. Lots of people I know seem to be going through a sense of existential anxiety or dread, which I think naturally arises from the realization of the cost of freedom and the responsibility of making meaningful choices. So far, in my 62 years on this planet, I have found that life becomes focused on the importance of personal faith. Too many of us treat trivially the really important questions of this life.
