@nervemed Just wanted to point out your chart is mistaken. Hco3 drops in metabolic acidosis and rises in met alkalosis. The arrows of compensation always point in the same direction as the primary driver of acid base imbalance.

It would be a moronic waste of resources to intubate and ventilate a child who would be dead on arrival if the injury was real, even more so in a war zone.
