Our new state of the art facility for Medical Innovation is on the way! Led by Mark Paul, our @UofUCMI director, this will be a best in class facility for medical innovators, device prototyping, and shaping the future of healthtech. Supported generously by the Crocker Catalyst Foundation, we will foster next generation medical innovators and leaders right here @UofUHealth and @UUtah!
CNS and AANS member and @childrensnatl neurosurgeon @ddonoho represented @neurosurgery at a physician roundtable, offering actionable insights on two critical areas shaping Medicare reform:
✅ Aligning value-based care with real-world specialty practice
🤖 Ensuring AI policy supports safe, effective tools.... not cautionary tales
TY to the @GOPDocCaucus for hosting this important discussion. Proud to have neurosurgery at the table helping chart the future of care delivery for #Medicare.

It was my great pleasure to represent our @neurosurgery field at a congressional roundtable with leaders and fellow physicians like @RepJohnJoyce and @RepGregMurphy and leaders from our medical societies.
Care quality, value based care, and reducing administrative burden are common values we all share.
New technologies like AI can help- or hurt - depending on our leadership and design.
(And great to see current and former colleagues from @ChildrensNatl@AAOHNS@AmCollSurgeons !)
Today, we celebrate both #WorldNeurosurgeryDay and the birthday of Harvey Cushing, the founder of modern neurosurgery. His pioneering spirit continues to inspire innovation, excellence and compassion in neurosurgical care around the world. #Neurosurgery
Talking #neurosurgery#innovation@SemmesMurphey. What an incredible program with one of my friends and mentors, Dr. Kevin Foley. Few in our speciality have been as prolific, inventing technologies in so many areas: spine surgery, navigation.... a host of other amazing innovations. I talk about Harvey Cushing in my talk but Kevin is my modern day hero!
It was an honor to kick off the @bigten Neuroscience Consortium by sharing our lessons learned in Surgical AI @SurgicalDSC for the next generation of surgical clinical trials. The future of neuroscience devices and SaMD requires intentional strategies for data and AI readiness. @DrBrowd and Katherine Wilson were incredible.
Our growing collaborations with leading institutions covering nearly 1/3 of the United States will provided unparalleled opportunities to improve care for rare diseases by evaluating new diagnostics, therapeutics, and devices.
Congratulations to @KyleWuMD and @RussellLonser for their vision and execution.
@ChildrensNatl@NIBIBgov
Spectacular meeting. Appreciate the opportunity to discuss Ai and data sharing, many thanks to @ddonoho and Kate Wilson for their insight and expertise.
