There are 2 linked posts on @RxISK that deal with similar issues around what drugs can do to us and how we prove if & how a drug has caused harm. Both posts need your input- comment on either post or consider filling in a RxISK report. https://t.co/aqpHLH3P59
SSRIs might cause us to feel or act differently. Things like reflex based changes, muted sensation and alcohol use disorder have been linked to some medications. We need your input on experiences on meds where your perception or personality has changed. https://t.co/IxXH4lDlp7
‘Not only is science being eclipsed along with an ability to spot the bedside perpetrator (the medicine) lurking in the background, but people like Deirdre Morley, Lindsay Clancy, Tom Kingston and others are being eclipsed.’

We know certain drugs can change our sensory responses & mute emotions but is what’s happening in homicides involving SSRIs the same for men as it is for women? We need more input on SSRI effects to better understand what may be happening in these cases. https://t.co/oNTxWfGTXv
“#Anosognosia is less commonly heard now…They have a new toy. Functional Neurological Disorder (#FND). They dismiss you, blithely saying the range of problems you claim you have could never be caused by any known medical disorder..”

Last week, we were honoured to host our Stolen Lives Talks in London to mark Prescribed Harm Day.
Today's reel shares just a few highlights from an incredibly powerful day of learning, reflection and hope. These short clips offer a glimpse into the important conversations that took place between clinicians, lawyers, psychologists, survivors, bereaved families and campaigners.
In 2018 we filed a citizens petition - Sexual side effects of SSRI’s and SNRI’s’ with FDA. 8 years on & still no response. Questions sent to PSSD sufferers have done little to restore faith. Time to ask FDA on Prescribed Harm Awareness Day for answers. https://t.co/TWMpxZqB3E
Exciting to see the vision behind the Stolen Lives Picnic gaining international momentum. Honored to be speaking at the first U.S. Stolen Lives Picnic at the Michigan State Capitol, standing alongside families and advocates working to advance informed consent and prevent needless harm.

History is repeating itself.
More than 20 years ago, opponents of stronger antidepressant suicide warnings argued that informing patients would scare them away from treatment.
Today, the same argument is being used against improving withdrawal and tapering guidelines and support.
That’s why I wrote this counterpoint, just published in the Minnesota Star Tribune.
Patients deserve the full story. That’s informed consent.

Attorney Skip Murgatroyd understands Paxil Study 329 better than almost anyone.
His former firm, Baum Hedlund (now @WisnerBaum), helped expose how ghostwritten studies, key opinion leaders, medical journals, and pharmaceutical companies worked together to shape the antidepressant narrative.
The real question is: why is the publisher still selling a paper and profiting whose Study 329 findings have been so thoroughly challenged?
Pre 2000 you were unlikely to leave an appointment feeling your doctor had gaslit you about drug harms. Now patients often feel they aren't believed. If your dr wont listen when you report an adverse event the question to ask is “why do you not believe me?”https://t.co/KmmIEhmqXY
FDA responds to our 2018 petition to get warnings added to Isotretinoin labelling. Erectile dysfunction, decreased libido & vaginal dryness will now be added under ADVERSE REACTIONS but do warnings on enduring sexual effects after stopping go far enough? https://t.co/1q2cBJmi5g
"We were literally told: don't ask about sex."
@DrDavidHealy helped run antidepressant trials. He says the marketed figure for sexual side effects was under 5%. In the healthy-volunteer trials it was closer to 90%.

‘..we have determined the labeling should state in ADVERSE REACTIONS certain sexual dysfunction ades listed in the Petition —erectile dysfunction, decreased libido & decreased vaginal lubrication — MAY CONTINUE AFTER ISOTRETINOIN IS STOPPED’.
