@ScienceMagazine@NewsfromScience I was thinking "Why?" But, I remembered that you could apply this to printing biological materials (a state counting algorithm I used as a student was developed to count out change at vending machines). Also, why not?
@letsinod@WorldHallOfFun@NASA@NOAA If the methodology is in question, let's look into it. This link was provided at the end of the page linked in the OP and shares links to detailed journal articles (without a pay wall): https://t.co/KtXAs3H0Hd
I am working on my submission for Proficient accreditation with NESA. While I am not working in Academia, all the writing and rewriting I did as a student and postdoc is making this easier: collecting evidence, development of a consistent narrative, and blunt objectivity.
@SeaCatWiz@OndrejMirtes I have also worked on open source software but we had a paid team because it was a research tool we were developing. If someone wanted something fixed, it was documented and added to the list. But, it was addressed when it was addressed. If someone wanted to push a fix, awesome.
@ghett_smart Now, if we bring the cats to between 0 and F distance away from the optic where F is the focal length of the optic, we could see a virtual image.

I do not mean to brag, because it is really the work of my students, but most of my Year 10s demonstrated a sound knowledge and understanding of the assessed content in their Science Yearly Examination! This is represents a significant level of attainment in Semester 2.
@Jaberuski I don't think you'll ever be able to give a consequence that is equal to the cost of a TV. I think you're going to have to talk with them about it and have extra chores for a short length as a type of repayment, even if an accident (it's all about taking responsibility).
@Anthony_Bonato Well, this started a bit of a detour. I suspect the student is being assessed on subitising and language of mathematics, if asked intentionally. The answer is 'fewer than 15.'
Did I underestimate how difficult I would find marking extended responses for VALID? Yes. Did I become a better marker because of marking extended responses for VALID? Yes.
I have ideas for how we can improve our assessments and rubrics within the faculty.
