I left psychology for software and AI. It felt like lighting a stable career on fire.
No CS degree.
No “right” background.
Just a lot of nights where I was worse than everyone in the room. Scariest decision I have made.Also the first one that made my life feel like mine. If you are thinking about the jump: the fear does not go away.
You just get better at building through it.
