@dsfpspacefl1ght@SpcPlcyOnline For a while, Mara missions were solicited by the Mars Scout program. When that ended, Discovery was re-opened to Mars missions but didn’t receive very many proposals the first two AOs to which Mars proposals were solicited. InSight, of course, being an exception.
@EmExAstris Once we renamed it to ROSES from ROSS (Research Opportunities in Space Science) after Earth science rejoined the space sciences, the release date seemed obvious.
@bielleogy Serious question: what could funding agencies do to support or enable faculty at non-R1 schools to get (more) involved in research? No snark here. Addressing this is part of my job.
@subsurface_life Non-law enforcement agencies shouldn’t have policies on piercings or tattoos. Uniformed positions might, though. NASA doesn’t have any policies restricting tattoos, piercings or hair length, style, or color.
@mommascientist @LokiVolcano Remember though that how Decadal Surveys are constructed is not mostly in NASA’a control. We will certainly advocate for that approach but the NAS has the last word.
@DrSteveElardo You should ask the Program Officer for a debriefing and at the debriefing ask about how the selection recommendation was created. There are a lot of factors that are part of that process and not all of them have to do with the score. Sorry.
