Achievement unlocked! We’ve officially launched Achievements–a new page in the Reader where your milestones, badges, and activity streaks have a home. 🏅
If you’ve been showing up to write, comment, or follow daily, you may have already unlocked more than you think.
Your achievements page is private by default. You can take a look at your achievements page here: https://t.co/x20SWIsYms, and also make it public if you wish to share.
I hope people have as much fun discovering and unlocking the achievements as we did building it.
Really happy to see people discovering Achievements on @wordpressdotcom - something I’ve worked on recently with @Copons.
The idea is about recognising the people who keep showing up: writing posts, leaving comments, building community.
Also yes, there are weird hidden badges.
There's something terribly British about the response to an economic war with possibly catastrophic worldwide economic fallout being "we're going to launch a consultation" #yesminister
@WillWorth@RandomSprint@dasanil Alphablocks would be an obvious one. I'd also recommend Nina and the Neurons (science), Go Jetters (geography), Andy's dinosaur adventures and Octonauts (sea creatures).
Airline: We're not refunding that surcharge as per our t&c's. Deal with it.
Me: ChatGPT, please draft me a reply in the style of a @patio11 "dangerous professional" to insist on a refund of a surcharge. Details below.
[...]
Airline: Awfully sorry, the refund is on its way.
@keveen2@BBCPanorama@BBCiPlayer@BBCOne Once a city creates a good, dense, safe cycle network then time after time results around the world show that cycling increases. There are cycle counters showing this.
Around the world includes London, which has more total rainfall and slightly more rainy days than Newcastle.
@keveen2@BBCPanorama@BBCiPlayer@BBCOne Do you think that the difference might be caused more by the difference in cycling infrastructure provision, rather than say your gut instinct on the weather in contravention of available data?
@keveen2@BBCPanorama@BBCiPlayer@BBCOne Newcastle has 122 rainy days per year on average. Amsterdam has about 170, and twice the volume of rain. The temperatures are broadly similar too, Amsterdam being maybe a degree warmer with the same humidity.
@MMelville9@Derbyshirecc To help you keep up, Road Tax was abolished in 1937, VED is a tax on vehicles not on roads.
I have a car and a bike, as do ~87% of cyclists.
@MMelville9@Derbyshirecc Junction 29a is a relatively recent addition, - it opened in 2008. The miles of roads around Markham Vale are also relatively new.
@MMelville9@Derbyshirecc For perspective, this cycle path, probably costing thousands is right next to junction 29a of the M1 which cost tens of millions.
@ajrudzitis Given numbers are infinite, and negative numbers are a thing, the scale is irrelevant to the range.
Boiling is mostly irrelevant but knowing what the outside temperature is in relation to freezing water is mildly helpful if you live somewhere where it gets icy.
