@Devsthetix When I was young used to do 200 morning and 200 night every day. After a point it becomes aerobic and you can go without feeling anything. Stays with you too. No strength training in 40 years and can still easily do 60 or 70. Suspect i could get back to 200 in a few weeks.
@SawyerMerritt@Starlink In other words, DL is more interested in upselling garbage than in providing me with good service. Got it. 2MM DM with a $100k annual spend on DL here. From now on, switching to UA when there is a choice. You don't get it. I need good connectivity. Full stop.
1. Number of launches, number of rockets, etc. is not the relevant variable. The relevant variable is cost.
2. For fuel and cargo, there is no rush so using a ballistic lunar capture instead of Hohmann saves a lot of fuel on the transfer.
3. Taking it one step further SEP (or NEP) reduces the fuel needed for a ballistic capture transfer to next to nothing compared to chemical Hohmann.
4. Only use chemical Hohmann for crew transfers and cut the wet mass of the crew vehicle by 80%.
4. Why do you need an elevator. Circular stairs and a crane will easily do the job at much lower cost, complexity and weight.
5. And if you want to tip the ship to horizontal, just shift fuel/cargo down to lower COM and then fire the RCS while simultaneously adjusting splay angle of the legs. (Required thrust and mechanical stress on the vehicle is minimized by lower lunar gravity.)
@elonmusk@SawyerMerritt DM 2MM….love Delta in other respects but literally this is forcing me to go back to UA. I spend 100+ hours a month on airplanes and I have to be able work efficiently while traveling.
Delta continues to lie to passengers about its WiFi offering. It has been loudly claiming "Fast Free WiFi" for over 3 years. As of today, it is not always "Free". It is never "Fast", and it is currently not available at all half the time I'm flying on Delta (150k miles/year.) LEO will take forever to deploy (starting 2028.... what a joke). And they plan to continue using ViaSat and Hughes (you have to be kidding.) The only thing true about their statement is "cost-effective." Yeah, it saves money for Delta at the cost of ongoing terrible WiFi service for their passengers. (Disclaimer - I love everything else about Delta.... Diamond 2MM..... but this is forcing me back to UA....yuck.
@DrKnowItAll16@Delta Agree. I like Delta (150k BIS miles a year) but I really have to have fast WiFi. Not happy but moving back to UA after a decade on DL.
