Liquid is down for scheduled maintenance and security related upgrades.
Filing a claim in the FTX claims portal will be unavailable to Liquid users until the upgrades are complete later today
Hinton’s exit removed the constraint of corporate PR, not his technical insight. Dismissing the source ignores that incumbents are best positioned to see systemic failure modes first.
im thrilled to announce im now head of engineering @MorphoLabs 🦋
ive spent most the last 7 years in defi (fun fact - my first startup was built on @compoundfinance) and im as bullish on morpho as i am @Uniswap.
why morpho is inevitable and what i’ll be focused on 🧵
Why I would not invest in the new Instinct round
“This is the threat that every VC worried about, and we all got a hall pass since the start of AI because the LLMs did not build any apps. This is the one that they are building.
Instinct is slow. That is a sign of compute costs. That is why they have to raise $1BN.
I worry when the incumbent has infinite capabilities here and wants to build the app. That is why I would say no, but I might be wrong.” @jasonlk
Love to hear your thoughts @FundamentEdge@wailord@pranavreddy@nabeelqu
One of the great benefits of any corporate chain is that you can pay yourself to increase volumes then claim it’s organic growth.
Let me explain:
On a real blockchain, the validator set is permissionless and thus diffuse. Ethereum stakers or Bitcoin miners can (and do) actually use the chain as users, but odds are the fees they pay don’t go back to them. In fact they are most likely to go to their competitors. So the incentive for fake usage or farming is negative.
But on any corpo network, there are just a handful of validators, and they likely have existing businesses arrangements. So any fees paid for usage by the validators is just self-dealing, it goes back to them or their business partners.
The incentive for fake usage, or at least inorganic usage, is very high.
At best it’s dogfooding, which competent VCs understand should not count as ARR.
So expect volumes on all the corporate databases (with a button) to grow rapidly. The people who know how actual blockchains work will know this doesn’t mean what the corpo networks’ CMOs claims it is.
(We also know real chains don’t have CMOs)
Agents already make up the majority of inference. This will quickly trend toward nearly all inference over the next year or two.
The vast majority of tokens used in the world will be agents that are executing unbelievable amounts of tasks for us in the background 24/7.
Agents will be deployed to read all code changes to secure our software, process all of our data inside of workflows, handle a significant majority of the research that goes into recruiting and customer prospecting, review every event stream and log from every system in the world, go out and execute tasks for us in our personal lives, and hundreds of other use cases.
The rate of new agents coming online that will be consuming insane amounts of tokens is not slowing down. Just in the past week I’ve introduced multiple completely new workflows that would not have been possible technically even a month ago.
Incredible time to be doing anything in inference and of course building on top of all of this.
If OpenAI can use an example of their own negligence and failed security practices to push for regulation that benefits them, it stands to reason that they will manufacture more "incidents". They are highly incentivized to
A few weeks ago, a company we invested in shut down.
The founder sent a very detailed email to the investor base explaining the situation.
I responded with three clear questions:
1. I am very sorry to hear this, are you ok? Losing a company is a very personal loss. I want to make sure that you yourself are okay.
2. Is there anything that I can do in the next steps with the investor base to help?
3. What are your thoughts on your next steps? Is there anything I can do to help facilitate those?
This is not the time to discuss lessons or negotiate for cents. This is the moment of peak pain. Be gentle.
The way you act in hard times is the way you will be treated in good times. People will always appreciate you for thinking long term and being there for them when it matters.

Astra was probably our biggest competitive advantage while it wasn’t generally available.
Since we’ve had it our productivity jumped so much that we shifted some of our plans 6 months ahead and will ship them at DevDay instead of mid next year.
