@thecrimeanalyst@Tulip_true I feel the same as you do! But I think the rationale is that the French system is investigativeand the judge is trying to build a rock-solid dossier that can in no way be appealed by any of the defendants.
@Huff4Congress@HairyLeggdHarpy@Serena_Partrick I’m not sure that’s true : it’s fairly recent in many countries for a wife not to be considered the property of her husband, and her husband was consenting to it all.
@JanetSouthCoast @WalkerMarcus@tanita_tikaram Techinically you are correct. Sex without consent isn’t necessarily rape under French law. Rape is penetration committed by violence, constraint, threat or surprise.
@DocPepper_FR Two points:
1) the economy is not a zero sum game
2) wealth distribution from the top to the bottom means more ends up in the economy, particularly the local one (people who already have enough money will save any extra, whereas poorer people will spend it)
@handybobandy@Crispy75@samofsamshire Having to go up or down a half floor to the bathroom is quite annoying I find. Especially if you forget your towel.
@Crispy75@samofsamshire Also the staircases take up sooooo much space.
I feel like a Victorian house in London contains at the very least 250k of staircase
@Tuatha_DeDannan @vitt2tsnoc This is such a weird take on the idea of innocence until proven guilty 😅
It’s a legal term which means no sentencing without proof. Doesn’t mean no one is allowed opinions until a judge has ruled.
