@chicawhappa@TheCensoredRock The majority are low-skill, menial labor. H-1Bs, meanwhile, are disproportionately being used to fill high-skill, high-wage jobs to reduce the leverage of this class of worker and depress earnings in response to the Great Resignation. You aren’t uniquely talented, you’re scabs.
@adwaitr_@sacralibertas@BinaryBit01 It has rotted countless teens’ brains by stunting their academic/social development and contributing to the development of mental illness. It has also converted our society from something earnest and friendly into a shallow, narcissistic, status-obsessed hellhole. It is terrible.
@Knightride52100@HughRetard They have flown every company they’ve been put in charge of into the ground at Mach 1 and permanently destroyed their legacy, lol. Indian CEOs first really started taking off around 2015 or so, and after just two years the American Consumer Satisfaction Index started plummeting.
@sanjays34349631@JobsNowPaper I don’t like any of these programs but at least the jobs being filled via H2s address actual labor gaps as we lack sufficient domestic talent able & willing to do the work. H1 visas are taking good jobs for which there are ample domestic candidates & destroying the labor market.
@SanDiegoKnight Lol… They very clearly took great pains to avoid mentioning India at any point in this document for whatever reason while also providing a solid overview of their flagrant abuse of the program. How can this program possibly be allowed to continue given what they detailed?
@fikkafication@Smeagolfan1 This is just an overview of denaturalization actions for a single month, not a deep dive into the prevalence of fraud by country of origin. We already know India-linked cross-border cyber scams generate $10 billion in total worldwide losses, to say nothing of any other variety.
@BravoKiloActual@Biddco Everyone has failed to mention the best part of the entire story, which is that only 40 minutes elapsed between when they left the dock and when they returned early on account of the players’ behavior. They basically started fucking the second that they pushed off, lol.
@Polarstar79@Anc_Aesthetics Yep. We need to unravel the post-GFC scam economy & figure out exactly what we have in terms of existing labor supply vs. actual requirements rather than playing musical chairs with a shrinking number of jobs as companies exploit the uncertainty to backdoor in foreign workers.
@greg78325@ThomBrady5 I do wonder if his selectivity RE: deportations is purposeful (ie targeting ethnicities working menial jobs while leaving H-1Bs in skilled positions unmolested regardless of fraud) & designed to create a new underclass of underemployed forced into menial jobs by work requirements
@unyielding_h@ThomBrady5 A) This isn’t true as middle-skill employment opportunities are now drying up as well.
B) Do you people not understand that if everyone goes into the trades, they will pay like total shit as there will be a massive labor pool relative to the number of available job opportunities?
@parthebar@KobeissiLetter Manufacturing employment is -21,000 relative to when Trump assumed office and construction employment gains are temporary and fueled by mass data center development which the vast majority of the country despises. Good talk.
@teej61@KobeissiLetter Yes they are—they are just being shipped overseas to so-called “global development centers” in India in a fashion reminiscent of when American manufacturing capacity was offshored for the purpose of labor arbitrage. This time, however, there are no replacements for the lost jobs.
@AIfied1111@KobeissiLetter Negative. “Computing infrastructure providers, data processing, web hosting, and related services” cut another 1,600 and “computer systems design and related services” cut 4,400. Together, they are down 6,000 m/m, -54,700 y/y, and something like -160,000 since November 2022.
@troubadour210@RichardHanania All of their posts on the topic are made in bad faith—they completely understand the counterargument. This is also why they seek to continuously misrepresent and undermine it as they know that they have zero chance of winning on the merits with the broader American public.
@heyjayhuffman@Johnson_Sean Kyler Murray is bad, Skattebo’s style renders him injury prone and the Giants’ upcoming schedule includes five games against teams in the top 7 for run defense (three in the top 4), and Purdy is going to be throwing to day laborers by Week 8 with the way things are going.
@RudyardQuiplin@DoDeportations Also, I’m not going to take the time to look it up, but I guarantee you that with the current rates of legal and illegal immigration from the subcontinent, Indians currently account for a significantly larger share of the enlistment-eligible population than 1.5%.
@RudyardQuiplin@DoDeportations The same way that a demographic which currently comprises 60% of the country accounts for 70% of the military, you fucking idiot.
