What has Mbekezeli Mbokazi learned in his time with #cf97 โ and how will he use that to help #BafanaBafana as South Africa returns to the World Cup and faces Mexico in one of the toughest environments in soccer?
Here's what the Chicago Fire defender told us a few weeks ago

I'm supporting Mexico against South Africa. South Africa's treatment of fellow Africans has raised many concerns, and I believe they need to do better in fostering unity and cooperation across the continent.
For that reason, I'll be backing Mexico in this match.
I'd go for balance between control and speed in attack.
Unfortunately, Modiba is not 100% fit, though he might have recovered from injury, but I'd still pick him if it's between him and Kabini. Otherwise, Mavusana is there.
โ Mbokazi and Okon, or Mbokazi and Makhanya, might have the same effect.
I hope Zwane can give us at least 60 minutes.
โ We are at our best when we play combinations with short passes in tight spaces, not counter attacking football. Let Mofokeng finish off, uncrease the tempo, and add extra verticality and sense of attacking urgency in the last 30 minutes.
โ Mexico will most likely be on the ball more, but we need to pick our moments and show our quality, we can't defend 90 minutes and hope to catch them on a break. We can't go into this fixture already feeling defeated and incapable of showing our quality.
Then have Adams and Mokoena as the base, both capable of protecting the defense, controlling tempo, and finding that progressive pass.
โ Their chemistry at club level will be key, Mokoena stepping forward more will unleash the best parts of his game. We need that. You get intelligence in moving the ball around, the calm and composure of Adams in that midfield.
Up front, we need a player willing to make those runs behind. We have good passers, Appollis is one of the most creative players at Bafana Bafana, good movement will be key for him and other creative players.
I'd go for Rayners, but the coach will always start Foster. His ability to drop and help us stay on the ball will be key, but it's his finishing we need the most. Hopefully, he hits the right note because he has been bad for us up front.
