Fantastic to see this work from the @DUK_research funded UNBIASED study published this week from a group including Dr Natalie Darko, the #NIHRLeicesterBRC Director of Inclusion.

The study examined inequities in access to diabetes technology for children and young people with type 1 diabetes and found that despite free universal access recommended by NICE, significant disparities persist particularly for those from ethnic minority and lower socio-economic backgrounds.
The research identified barriers including regional variation, communication gaps, unconscious bias, and limited culturally tailored education. It amplifies the voices of young people, families, and healthcare professionals and calls for meaningful system change so every child can benefit from the best available care.

A big thank you to our fantastic #PSTEP user engagement group who attended our workshop on Tuesday.
The users gave really positive feedback and provided us with insightful comments to help us to optimise the app 🙌 @LeicResearch@NIHRinvolvement@esa
The #PSTEP app is taking shape with huge involvement from our amazing #NIHRLeicesterBRC user group @LeicResearch@NIHRInvolvement. They have been integral to the design of the app and spent a full day testing with our team. We'll be showcasing the prototype with @ESA soon!
