@DrSianAllen Any chance you’ll migrate over to Mastodon, Threads or some other platform? I really appreciate & value your posts, but don’t think I can stick around on Twitter much longer.
@MengTo@Bitcoinvics@petergyang I grew up in the States & spent about 1.5 years living in SG. Though it was hot & humid, I came to appreciate the consistency of the weather. And, like you, also enjoyed the incredible thunderstorms! We lived in the East Coast ‘hood & loved it—great local vibe & GREAT eats.🤤
Born #Today in 1839, Josephine Cochrane was the inventor of the first successful hand-powered dishwasher, which she designed, and then constructed with the assistance of mechanic George Butters, who became one of her first employees

@michaelmiraflor@vincenzolandino I’m fortunate enough to own a 36mm Explorer circa 2001 & agree that it’s essentially perfect—super wearable, versatile & surprisingly under-the-radar. But a dive/timing bezel can be useful, so the small Pelagos is a strong choice if you often time things (tea, parking, etc.).
@EHaldopoulos@TomVoelk@amazon@Rivian Thanks for the insight! I wonder if they’re not installed on the German version due to privacy regulations or simply to reduce costs?
@TomVoelk@amazon@Rivian No worries! Interesting that that gadget affixed to the rearview position in your photo doesn't seem to be included on the truck in Germany, as per the images @electricfelix posted. For whatever reason, I always find regional product differences fascinating.
Nike's looking for an experienced teammate to conduct research at the intersection of sport, biomechanics, and robotics to help develop new, innovative products for everyday athletes. This is a 1-year contract position.

@techreview Hello, I've been trying to get a receipt for my recent subscription renewal, but am having no luck via the contact link on your site. Would really appreciate help w/ this, as I need to submit an expense report ASAP. Could you point me to someone who could help?
The magpie is one of the most intelligent animals to exist. Their brain-to-body-mass ratio is outmatched only by that of humans. Their playful, curious spirit drives adaptation and exploration

For the Apple Watch experts, is the #AppleWatchUltra the first model that includes cellular hardware by default (thereby allowing cell service to be added post-purchase)? As far as I can tell, it is, but I've not been following the Apple Watch closely in recent years.
@LaLtheGaL Wow, that's amazing that you're already getting down to those depths! I'll bet that Apple releases a new model within 3 years that's rated to 100m to persuade suckers like me who buy the Ultra now to upgrade.🥲 At least they're good about taking back & recycling used items.
@LaLtheGaL Out of genuine curiosity, what depth rating would be sufficient for your needs? 40m is the generally accepted threshold for recreational "air" diving, which I'm guessing is why Apple targeted that depth.
@caro_milanesi Really appreciate your added commentary Carolina, and great point about the Ultra being less overtly masculine than other watches in this "adventure" category. Do you happen to know the circumference of your wrist? Was just hoping to get some context vis-a-vis the size.
@CharlesPattson It's such a great example of software selling hardware. Many people are going to stretch up to the Pro price points for this feature alone. As they've been saying for a while now, Apple's ability to meld hardware & software is a ginormous competitive advantage.
@sdw 🙌🏻Amen, brother! And, in addition to the added ruggedness, the Ultra offers meaningfully more battery life. Even as someone w/ a relatively small wrist, this more than offsets the larger form factor.
