Mainstream news tech reporting is atrocious. Even know, several hours after, they are still reporting that "Microsoft" is the cause for the havoc. Because it was windows crashing.
We thought like, maybe a big ransomware incident, or a data leak.
We didn't expect arguably one of the largest IT outages in history caused by arguably one of the largest cybersecurity companies in history.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@aejleslie "a legacy non-production test tenant account .. of Microsoft corporate email accounts, including members of our senior leadership team and employees". A legacy, non-prod tenant account with access to senior leadership accounts. So much for a test tenant.
@nickrusso42518 Found this on the wild today which reminded me of your post not too long ago. CLI typos or "cosmetic" are one thing, but typos in the API might break a lot of stuff when fixed:
@danieldibswe No more ESXI home labs. Nothing better for a business than killing the way for people to know your products, get used to, and testing them.
@diivious I really dont believe they were not using that information already (as that's the whole purpose why apps have built-in browsers).
I think this just a new opt-in thing for EU regulators.
@SwiftOnSecurity That's part of the mandatory driving lessons in Norway. They take you to a track that is "icy" (oiled up in summer) and let you drive there. You even run over (while trying to avoid) some fake "people" and crash foam stuff.
@Jerome_UZ@eastdakota A watch is a no-go (imho) , phone, maaaybe. If it can transmit on a non-coverage frequency, and i wouldnt rely too much on a device thats being actively used for other stuff and might not have enough battery.
I trust my life to a dedicated device.
@Jerome_UZ@eastdakota The beacon not only shows the relative location in an horizontal plane, but also in vertical (buried down meters).
It also meant to work in areas with no cellphone and/or coverage and meant to be wear in a place where you should not drop it while being carried by avalanche.
For months i have been trying to build proper tools to automate network devices and security (firewalls mostly). The biggest blocker? The abysmal API support from most big vendors. From non-existent APIs, to fully bugged ones, shitty documentation and overly complex workflows.
Business idea @elonmusk: A monthly fee for the ability to filter the blue checkmarks (non official accounts) from the responses feed. Remove the "prioritization".
Would gladly pay for that. Going into a thread is useless now.
@danieldibswe "Explain the process for your computer (via browser) to open a webpage, for example https://t.co/xI0m9xfyXi".
Simple, but can go as deep as one wants. Never fails.
