@s_seglenieks I chose to take Hebrew for my foreign language requirement in college because I wanted to learn to translate my favorite psalms.
LOL.
I had no clue what I was getting myself into, but I’m so glad I was naive and optimistic enough to begin my Hebrew journey.
When I was in the hospital last week, I needed a new IV.
As the IV access guy walked in, he introduced himself. Then I saw his face and quickly said, “You’ve stuck me before (many times).”
He immediately replied, “Oh my gosh, kid. I think about that day in the ER all the time.”
@AftrTheShock I’d love to chat with you sometime! Yeah, I went to seminary thinking I’d spend the rest of my life studying Hebrew and the OT. But as my disease progressed, my academic interests started to shift. I couldn’t avoid questions about quality of life care and ethics.
@JacksonWoosley Have you read Stump’s chapter on the Eucharist in ‘Atonement?’ If not, I think you’d really appreciate her insights. It was one of the most edifying chapters for me personally, not just academically.
@TheKateBoyd @laniewalkup SAME, GIRL. I didn’t know a whole lot about it beforehand, so I wasn’t prepared to feel all the feels and be both broken and healed all at once.
