My latest research on realizing a quantum phase transition across an error threshold has just been published with @SpringerNature in @NaturePhysics!Read more here: https://t.co/BsfskMyeBy

Can you find the Nishimori cat states? We did! Using @IBMResearch's 127 qubit superconducting processor. Thanks to @guoyizhu, @simon from the U. of Cologne; Ruben Verresen, Nathanan Tantivasadakarn (now Caltech) and @AshvinVish25247 from Harvard; and my fellow IBMers.
The Nishimori transition is a staple of stat mech — one of few exact results for the random-bond Ising model famous for its spin glass phase. Moving directly through the transition, however, is an exceedingly fine-tuned manoeuvre balancing thermal fluctuations and disorder.

A little update. Our first exploratory Falcon r8 processor - "ibm_peekskill" is alive. Happy to have 3 times the coherence in a large device and we are on a path for pushing the quality of our systems higher. https://t.co/MiYvmjkid6
