@KSeattleWeather It was very pleasant over here on the east side—barely reached 100. Though some days it was clear that the smoke helped with that, cooling it down just a little. The cool summer didn't seem to help the fire season at all🫤
@SeattleWXGuy ... lightning starts fires. I've watched it happen over and over. No, it isn't space lasers. But EVEN IF IT WAS SPACE LASERS, the fires wouldn't be so bad if the conditions weren't so dry.....
Ahem. Pardon my outburst. 😅
@SeattleWXGuy And there wasn't any snow? It's so not right. So the plants are too dry for too long. Of course they're going to burn. It really doesn't even matter the cause. The arson wouldn't be successful if the conditions weren't so dry. And YES, we get lightning. And YES...
Video from Anna Johnston in Spokane, Washington shows traffic jammed up as residents continue to evacuate due to the Old Trails Fire. The fire continues to spot and grow due to very strong winds.
The Dwight Merkel outdoor Sports complex that was full for Saturday activities has been forced to evacuate. Evacuations now run as far north as Rutter Parkway. This is a wildland urban interface nightmare. The fire is over 2,000 acres.
@MaxVelocityWX This is my first ever "Particularly Dangerous Situation" warning. I never knew what those were until I started watching you. Normally SE Washington St is super safe and boring, weather-wise, so I have to enjoy exciting weather by living vicariously through your stream.
@96f20P_JRoToole@carolancanuck I read it. And posted a screenshot of lightning to show how we do, in fact, get lightning over here on the east side. I can look up more. I take a lot of screenshots of lightning.
@SkylarSkye3 No? You're up there, but Canada is my dear neighbor, Mexico gave my town so much culture, Ireland is the home of my ancestors, France is our 1st friend and the place of my honeymoon. I feel like you're asking a parent which of their kids is the favorite. It smacks of insecurity?
