Getting Covid now feels like such a personal failure. For the past nearly 2yrs, I’ve been beyond vigilant, taking precautions before any were formally recommended & using higher level of PPE. But I didn’t wear goggles those 1st 2 days back on service in mid Dec. And did I wear
my personal kn95 that 1st day on rounds or had I swapped it out for surgical masks x 2? Hosp policies had been relaxed. But I should have reminded myself — hosp/cdc policies throughout this pandemic have been reactive not proactive. …Now I’m stuck isolating in my bedroom,
2. You can never be too vigilant. I’m so worried I may have exposed my 3y/o son & my husband & other relatives during asymptomatic but infectious period.
3. Get boosted! I’m vaxxed x 3 & otherwise healthy. And I still feel worse than any other pre-covid illness I can recall.
And now I’m wearing an N95 at home.. Symptom onset this AM— cough, lower back pain, head congestion (like my ear drums are going to pop), severe headache, sore throat, fatigue, myalgias. And Home rapid Ag test positive. With plans to see family over holidays, I thought I was

Lessons to pass on:
1. A neg PCR test couple days beforehand, a neg Ag test on day of event, AND lack of symptoms does not guarantee a “safe” social event.
