@keywesttoons@PriynathBenares That's not what happened here, the glacial front collapsed and fell 4km into the valley, creating a debris flow with the force of a large tactical nuclear weapon. Glacial outburst floods take several days to weeks to build up, not the minutes from this one
@drumm_colin You've obviously never had real Nigerian food.. arguably hotter than Thailand or the spiciest Chinese regions. The huge list of unfamiliar West African rainforest spices is the best part. Good options in Houston / NYC / Oakland.
@Ksidiii Right and wrong, residual reversion is one of the most reliable strategies out there.. of course, the key is residual which you as a retail trader both don't have a full factor model to get residuals, and can't get efficient execution. Long term reversion doesn't work.
#WNC#Helene if you're leaving via the 26 - 74 route, we were just able to get gas in Shelby although there are lines. Once you get to 77 things are fine. In case anyone is looking for info.
Tomahawk branch, a tiny creek, flooded out with stuck vehicles in Black Mountain, NC. Water must have topped 10'. Now retreated and cleanup starts. Just got to wait it out, roads out to both Asheville and East are washed out. #Helene
@VladTheInflator It's funny that you would recommend buying gold when financialized gold is ~10x real supply and would be equally unlikely to survive a truly calamitous event like the collapse of major nation debt. Physical gold of course is worse considering security.
@Rebel44CZ It's a valid idea in some areas but the grid interconnects are ultimately more important. Grid topology is harder to change than generation. They're probably a long way forward in updating it by now though just based on necessity.
