If you look at the most successful orgs, they are all creating fan bases by pumping out content. Which is quite literally what barstool is built on.

Dave brings up Robert Kraft buying the Boston Breach for $20 million and wanting sell to him for $1 million. Fair assumption on paper, but that was in 2020 where a bunch investors, who had no idea what they were doing in esports, starting valuing teams (who were barely profitable) as a $50 million dollar organization. They had no proper metrics to justify those values, so they then dumped a bunch of money into esports and wondered where their profit was a year later.

Just a complete miscalculation.

Esports is not ultra profitable now, but it’s found a better level where it can sustain. AND the trend of kids who are buying into video games/esports vs actual pro sports is shifting. Parents today literally pay coaches to make their kids to better at video games in hopes that they become a pro. Over time it’s going to create a cultural shift, and that shift could be in the next 5 years, so don’t be late for it.

This is actually more common than it may seem.

I have worked with creators and players who were young and treated the money very lightly.

I truly feel for them and what could have been avoided.

If I could give any advice it would be this: if you have any ounce of success, let that trigger you to ask for guidance, before it’s too late.
