@madebygregcox @Jwhitetree I always apply thin set to the floor then screw the hardi backer down. Apply fiber tape to seams and thinset as smooth as possible. You’ll need to scrape a little before you start tiling. Wood screws should be fine. Hardy screw has nubs that countersink good. Just make sure the

@Ha11nnh1 There’s supposed to be an eye bolt on the underside of the third step to hook your pull stick in to pull the stairs towards you without killing you. The hook on the pole looks too big as well
