@derek_lpz@abhornUCRedu I agree that this a sad thing to see. Administrators should have been alresdy prioritizing quality between students. The fact that equality is still not here means we that we are not there yet. Institutions need to do better. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
Reading about the lack of equity between white student athletes and African American student athletes is saddening. African American student athletes are not given the same resources or support as their white peer and reflects poorly on their academics. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
@dband008@annaaacha I totally agree with this. Why should the NCAA and institutions be able to profit of their college athletes when the athletes don’t even see a cent of that? #ucr150@abhornUCRedu
It’s unfair that the NCAA profits of college athletes through commercialism, like with Ed O’Bannon. Yet they still deem college as amateurs and don’t give them any compensation besides the NCAA athletic scholarship. The NCAA is just money hungry. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
@AlexCruz153153@abhornUCRedu I thought this was interesting as well. Why do transfers have to complete a 1 year residency and sit out, while a non transfer first year student does not need to sit out for a year. It sounds more like a punishment than just a restriction. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
Restrictions on college athletes and them transferring is unfair. They should be allowed to transfer like any other college student. It’s unreasonable for transfers to sit out a year to focus on school, while first years get to play. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu https://t.co/7kcBlBFsxl
@AlexCruz153153@abhornUCRedu I’m glad that the NCAA requires schools to have concussion management plans. However, I think they should also require that schools give students the proper education of the symptoms and dangers of concussions. This way more concussions can be reported. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
Concussions should be taken seriously as the human brain is very important for all functions. Coaches should definitely take concussions more seriously. It was surprising to learn that there are around 7.6 million sports related concussions every year. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
@cortez85218@abhornUCRedu I 100% agree that women are not receiving equity still scholarship/ grants wise. It should definitely be looked more especially with the fact that men get over $136 million more in scholarship money. Crazy! # UCR150 @abhornUCRedu
Title IX was created to prohibit sex discrimination in education including college sports. I was frustrated to learn to learn that 80% or more of colleges are not in compliance, which is so high. Yet some still believe title IX takes away from men’s sports. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
@AlexCruz153153@abhornUCRedu Thank you for mentioning how the NLI is voluntary. However, I’m thinking about how the consequences of this will affect these student atheletes, including the loss of their scholarship. Is it worth to sign or not sign?! #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
Learning about the National Letter of Intent just shows another thing that college atheletes don’t have rights too. Many college athletes sign away their rights with no room for negotiations and yet signing day is so glorified. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
@cjime074 It’s definitely unfair that student athletes are being treated this way. Some students need to the money but they may not even have time to get a job outside of school because so much time is dedicated to their sport. Athletes deserve compensation. #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
When will student athletes finally be given rights and given compensation for their time and work they put into their sport? The NCAA profits off the students athletes and yet they get no compensation in return. @abhornUCRedu#ucr150
@cortez85218@abhornUCRedu 100% agree with this! Fair treatment of student athletes is so important! Especially since universities gets so much funding from sports and that’s all due to the student athletes! #UCR150@abhornUCRedu
of anywhere from $100,000-1 million dollars. I think it is sad and unfair that only when universities lose out on money, they start listening to the student athletes about their mistreatments and racial inequality. (2/2)

It’s amazing to see how strong in solidarity the football community is when different football teams at various universities, University of Texas, Mizzou, SJSU, refuse to play until there is some change. I had no idea that refusing to play one game, would result in the loss (1/2)
