The NUC says that people with honorary doctorate degrees should not use the title ‘Dr’ and that it is reserved for those who have earned it through academic study and medical professionals.

How will they enforce it though? Especially among politicians and their wives? Before now, when you were not sure what to call someone, you would say Chief or Alhaji, knowing you’ll be safe. Now, it’s Doctor. 😀
