A Punjabi Hindu or Sikh from Kabul is an Afghan and so is a Gujjar from Kunar.

A direct descendant of Ahmad Shah Abdali from Quetta is not an Afghan but a Pakistani, unless he’s a refugee from Afghanistan.

He belongs to the Afghan branch of the ex-ruling family of Chitral (their ancestor fled the region in the 19th century due to a violent power struggle).

They Kators are Kho, and Kho tend to be a fair bit more western-shifted than this sample.

Yan is like 1/4 Georgian via his paternal grandmother and I don’t think he speaks the language either. I wouldn’t call him East Asian either just because his paternal grandfather was Chinese.

@rohit_achanta Ethnic Punjabi and even moreso ethnic Sindhi conversion to Islam was significant but the Pashtun/Baloch migrations you mentioned combined with the relatively high TFR of all regional Muslims regardless of ethnicity is why the region became clearly Muslim majority eventually.

@Jeet_19802021 @TarikhiAwankari The closest descendants of the Kambojas are the modern Indo-Pak Kamboh/Kamboj caste, who are obviously named for them and genetically “Iranic-shifted”.

They’re variously either Muslim (likely the majority) or Sikh or Hindu. Some Muslim ones assimilated into Arains a century ago.

However, I think Langahs are an example of a clan “native” and more or less confined to the Saraiki heartland. Not sure of other clans.

Within Sindh province, the local Sindhis are the systemically privileged majority, the “white people” of the province, more or less. Muhajirs and other provincial minorities are the “black people”.
