A valuable discussion today in Pristina with @EjupMaqedonci on regional security, the crucial role played by KFOR, and cooperation between NATO and Kosovo’s security institutions. I welcomed Kosovo’s commitment to contributing to peace and stability in the Western Balkans and beyond.

Chargé d’affaires Anu Prattipati joined partners for the MCC-Kosovo Compact event, highlighting progress on a $237 million partnership between the United States, through the MCC, and the Republic of Kosovo. This landmark investment is strengthening energy security by addressing unreliable electricity supply, while creating new commercial opportunities for American companies in energy infrastructure, storage, and workforce development. This investment supports our shared long-term economic growth. Energy security is national security.
On this day 11 years ago the United States officially broke ground on the new U.S. Embassy compound in Pristina. Kosovo has one of the most modern state-of-the-art U.S. embassy buildings in the world – a symbol of diplomatic partnership and cooperation between our two countries. The innovative and secure building design involved many local workers and architects in its construction process. #Freedom250 #AmericanExcellence #KosovoJourneyToFreedom🇽🇰🇺🇸
The Republic of Kosova is committed to EU and NATO membership. The renewed momentum of enlargement for both NATO and the EU require unity of engagement towards Kosova. The EU needs to deliver on the EU candidate status and opening of accession negotiations and NATO must strengthen its southeastern flank with Kosova's membership.
This is the message we conveyed in a series of important and fruitful meetings on the sidelines of the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan, in discussions with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, EU HR/VP Kaja Kallas, and other world leaders, including those from countries with which we aim to establish diplomatic relations, such as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and our host, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
At the summit, I also had the honor of speaking as part of two panels: “European Coalition Against Drugs” and “Reinforcing Democratic Resilience and Addressing Hybrid Threats.”
🇽🇰🤝🇹🇷Together with Minister Yaşar Güler, we signed the Military Financial Cooperation Agreement between Kosovo and Türkiye.
A clear reflection of our strong partnership and shared commitment to security and stability.
🇭🇷🇷🇸🇽🇰A court in Croatia is seeking a prison sentence for a 25-year-old Serbian citizen for writing "Kosovo is Serbia" on a car with Kosovo license plates.
The District Court in Rijeka, Croatia, on April 29, 2026, ordered pretrial detention for a 25-year-old Serbian citizen, who is suspected of the criminal offense of damaging another person's property and public incitement to violence and hatred.
The detention was ordered because the suspect is unavailable to Croatian judicial authorities and, according to court allegations, is on the run.
Croatian judicial authorities attempted to locate the individual through international legal assistance, but the Republic of Serbia rejected the request.
On the sidelines of @EPCArmenia, I was pleased to meet with PM @albinkurti.
We exchanged views on the EPC agenda, underlining the importance of dialogue & cooperation.
Kosovo is not a question of geography.
It is a question of freedom. 🇽🇰🇪🇺
126 countries already recognize Kosovo — the Free World stands united.
Those who oppose Kosovo stand with authoritarianism, with Moscow-style politics, with the past.
This is the real divide:
👉 Freedom vs. Tyranny
Europe must be clear.
The West must be united.
Recognize Kosovo. Fully. Everywhere. Now.
👉 Where do YOU belong?

🚨Rumours are circulating that the Albanian journalist who worked with Vucic’s mother is actually his father. This would make him the first Albanian 🇦🇱 president of Serbia.
On the 18th anniversary of our independence, the Republic of Kosova is stronger than ever. With unprecedented democratic progress, the fastest growing economy in the region, an ever-strengthening military, we have much to be proud of for what we have achieved, and even more to look forward to in the years to come. Happy Independence Day to all of our citizens at home and abroad, and to the international allies and partners who continue to contribute to our success.
At the Defense Circle panel in Berlin, I underscored 🇽🇰’s approach to security and resilience.
Deterrence starts with strong institutions, societal cohesion, and readiness. With key partners, especially 🇩🇪, Kosova is strengthening regional and European security.

Productive meetings in Pristina with Acting President Haxhiu, Prime Minister Kurti, Defense Minister Maqedonci, and team. Kosovo is stepping up as a security contributor, from its role in the Board of Peace to its planned personnel contribution for the International Stabilization Force in Gaza. I commend Kosovo’s commitment to acquiring 🇺🇸 defense articles and their growing defense industrial base. Stronger partners lead to a more secure future.
For over 26 years, the U.S. has supported KFOR as a pillar of stability. I had an important meeting with Major General Ozkan Ulutas, Commander of KFOR, to discuss our mission in the Western Balkans. We are Kosovo’s strongest partner, enhancing the country’s ability to defend itself. As we call on Allies to take greater responsibility for European security, KFOR remains critical to a safe and resilient region.
