Reports say after lobbying failed, they approached Turkish politician @ikaraosmanoglu (close to you, linked to defence deals & kickbacks). He negotiated the deal, threatened MD Niyaz, who was then removed when he refused.

If the property’s market value is around USD 119 million, how can ownership rights be transferred for only USD 1.5 million to the current management when the existing head lease agreement is valid until 2030?

If such a transfer were to happen through influence or special consideration rather than a transparent commercial process, who would be betraying the interests of the people? The difference of approximately USD 117.5 million represents an enormous public value that should be protected.

Business decisions should be based on sound commercial principles, transparency, and fairness. They should never be influenced by personal relationships or special interests. At the same time, such decisions should be handled carefully to ensure they do not negatively affect the strong relationships and mutual trust between countries.

Most importantly, how would such an arrangement protect the interests of the 24,000 Maldivian shareholders?
