Writing a book about the world's most enduring companies, OUTLAST, for @ScribnerBooks — coming 2027. Investor @ Nightview. | Long Game columnist @BigThink.
Just a wonderful piece from Eric here. The more AI does, the more the future -- time, attention, energy, focus -- belongs to humans, so perhaps now's when we should be reskilling in that direction, eh?
My latest essay—The Hunger for Human Connection—is now published in @bigthink's print magazine.

In the piece, I make a pretty simple argument: the AI boom will inevitably change culture and society in many ways, but perhaps the most obvious is that it's going to reignite a desire for real, in-person connection.
From the piece:
"The robots are coming, yes, and many of them will genuinely help us lead safer, healthier lives. But it’s on each of us to ensure that in automating the labor of life, we do not automate away its substance: the bond of community. Which is, in the end, the purpose of being alive."

Poking my head out of the book writing cave to offer congrats to @Jack_Raines! He's one of the good ones.
I remember when @tomowenmorgan introduced us in 2024 and Jack talked about the book idea. So cool to see it now live.
Excited to get my copy... even if I'm FAR from my 20s. Damn.

Eric’s (@EricMarkowitz) Outlast newsletter is one of the few things online that actually makes me rethink “growth” less about hustle, more about resilience, trust, and building things that can survive bad weather.
If you care about long-term thinking, this is worth subscribing to. https://t.co/NmcfwEvkEo
