2 thesolonians 2:15: “hold fast to the traditions you have been taught by word or epistles”. Scripture isn’t the sole source or safeguard of truth.

John 20 31 is a testimonial. The verse prior specifically attests to much witnessed not contained in the book. It doesn’t call it irrelevant in the slightest.
