Another day, another organisation that claims to be run for and by disabled people… with an accessibility overlay on their website. 🚩

Yes @TangHallExplore! I love your new checkout machines! There’s space for my wheelchair so I can get right up to them! No more awkward shuffle and dropping books! A-whoop!!!
Join us to talk about York's footstreet changes with Rachael Maskell (MP) and Councillor George Norman on Wednesday! https://t.co/NtdU0l9Kmp #ClosedToUs
Here is the graphic used by government to illustrate #DisabilityStrategy. Should we tell them, inclusive design would not need a ramp it would have a level threshold?
Please support York, as it effects all, you may want to visit someday. More importantly if one council gets away with it just gives an excuse for others to follow. Disabled need to stand/sit together to get a strong voice.
Are you a business in the city centre? An ally of disabled people? We suggest you object to the footstreets proposals which will make it harder to disabled people to access your business. https://t.co/pHD4VSjgjN

All the information about the order to remove Blue Badge access to York city centre wasn’t actually available at the council offices, despite the council website insisting it was. It was also only published online on the 22nd of July. Will the deadline for objecting be extended?
@YorkDisability@erukidesu@YorkDRF @YorkAccessible To be clear, I specifically asked them to check for the statement of reasons when I realised it wasn't there, but I was assured I had been given all the documents they had about this order and told to email for anything further.
Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not object to @CityofYork’s discriminatory order to exclude many disabled people from the city centre. Fun for all the family! Here are some handy templates for you: https://t.co/7Z8gi5RwOM #LetsBeYork
