Very happy to see our work comparing time-restricted eating (#TRE) to consultations with an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (#APD) out now, with a piece on @conversationEDU out today coauthored by @BrookeDevlin (if you want the short, punchy version! - link below). 1/6
I feel like I’m jinxed with posters at conferences. In May my poster never made it to ECO in Spain, today my flight delay has meant I’ve missed my #espen2025 poster I diligently got printed on fabric to bring with me 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ #cantwin

Nothing gripes me more than seeing lean mass being presented as muscle mass when talking about weight loss #notthesame 🤬 but also no acknowledgement that lean mass increases with weight gain! So how about we instead focus on physical function over body composition #ECO2025

@BeardedHeartDoc@AngeloSabag @JohnAHawley Agreed. We certainly don’t push TRE as a treat all approach and have seen that it does not work for all. Our thought is that TRE is another “option on the menu” which can have positive physiological outcomes

Huge thanks to our wonderful participants and the team of researchers who worked tirelessly, as well as the generous funding from Diabetes Australia in 2020 and support I received from @acumedia in the form of return to work grants following parental leave. 5/6

@Katebolam Have been thinking of you a lot! I haven’t been to too many of the T1D talks (as my research is T2D focussed) but you should come with me one year!
At my favourite conference #adc2024, kicking off with Prof Chantal Mathieu giving an engaging presentation feat. a refreshing overview of technology supporting those with T1D
@McMimck Great question. We didn’t test beer, and our research was 12 std drinks in one sitting, in the early post exercise period.
I would say that the post-exercise 2-3 hour period without adequate protein is the most important factor. Depends also on what “gain” you are after?
