@emollick Can you ask them who wrote that piece? I assume it’s mostly AI written but it doesn’t read as AI. Knowing how they prompt Claude to write better and avoid the AI tropes would be very useful.
@the_antrik@emollick True, I’ve seen them in the wild as you say mostly used by academics. In a marketing brochure not so much though, and it’s very much a LLM tell these days, as it’s almost impossible to get them to stop using it.
@doodlestein@xundecidability@Prithvir12 Agree, have seen it too. Yesterday on a complex db performance issue. “thinking-high” was doing all the correct logical things and didn’t get stuck in a loop, but max was eventually able to get to the unintuitive breakthrough finding.
@karpathy@AnubhawM This is really mostly a ChatGPT thing since the last 5.x versions (haven’t seen Claude doing it).
Very annoying - I’ve tried a number of prompting techniques to stop it from doing it, but the RL on engagementmaxxing seems too strong.
.@OfficialLoganK Can you help me understand why gemini-2.5-flash-lite is being replaced by a model that is still in preview and most importantly 65% more expensive? We're on tier 3 and 2.5-flash-lite is an important reason for us to use Gemini.
@Teknium@dotta Since Hermes Agent came out, I noticed that many of Tek’s posts and replies…
1. Are more polite and considerate
2. Are longer than 1 sentence
3. Lack any cussing
If you’re being held hostage Tek, make sure to use your safe word!
@Steve_Yegge Proximity to a bakery is definitely underrated as an ingredient for success - waking up really early with the smell of baking bread does that to people.
Great write up.
Companies using Gastown? Really?
