@MaxFagin@smartereveryday@planet4589 I agree, and came here to say this. 0.1 degrees at 135 meters puts the object at 77km [~180*135m/(0.1*pi)]. At the angular speed @planet4589 mentioned (0.5 degrees/0.5 second), that is 1300m/s... very curious
How did galaxies transform the universe after the Big Bang?
Alexandra Le Reste, who did her PhD at the OKC and Astronomy department of @Stockholm_Uni, explains the research she did with the MeerKAT telescope @SKA_Africa.

JWST ❤️ OKC
The OKC is happy to share that it will have a strong presence in the forthcoming Cycle 3 program of the James Webb Space Telescope, which will bring a wealth of data that will help improve our understanding of the cosmos.
Scientists can finally show that a neutron star formed from our most well-studied supernova, SN 1987A. The breakthrough was made possible thanks to James Webb telescope #JWST New study in @ScienceMagazine from @stockholm_univ @TheOKC@KTHuniversity et al https://t.co/tEaND9wvoh
Congratulations to OKC members Claes Fransson from the Astro Dept at @Stockholm_Uni and Josefin Larsson from @KTHuniversity for this important discovery!
Deadline approaching! Apply before February 5 to the position as assistant professor in data-intensive methods in fundamental physics, astrophysics and cosmology at the Oskar Klein Centre.

The @astronomy_su and @TheOKC are incredibly vibrant research environments for astronomy and astrophysics. We also have one of the largest communities of supernovae-based research in Europe covering all aspects from theory to observation.
I'm looking for a postdoc to work on computational simulations of core-collapse supernovae in Stockholm. If you, or someone you know is interested please apply! deadline January 12 (this Friday) https://t.co/QahXao3ppz
new paper alert ‼️
have u ever wanted to use the stellar evolution code, MESA, in your class but don’t know where to start or don’t want install it?
then you should try MESA-Web!

And also this edition of MICRA came to an end. It was a very interesting meeting and I was very happy to meet new and old people. Thanks to @EctTrento in #Trento for hosting this meeting. All talks are available on line

How is it that time already? I am going to be applying to postdocs this cycle and would love to share my work with y'all, if you'd have me! I spend my time modeling core-collapse supernovae and predicting light curves, GRRMHD code development, and upcoming collapsar work!
The next Galactic #supernova — which will be a multimessenger treasure trove of neutrinos and gravitational waves (hopefully!) — will likely come from a red supergiant listed somewhere in this new catalog by S. Healy I’m excited to be associated with.
