@TheEconomist@elonmusk@zannymb There’s no way people are going to allow this in a short amount of time. We will be disabling data centers, passing legislation long before this even becomes a possibility.
Few things wrong here. First, interest rates were not insanely low when our parents were buying homes. This is the fault of the fed. Second, Wall Street buying up real estate is largely a myth. Very little proportionally to supply is owned by institutions. Three, you can’t compare Ocean Side/San Diego when it was literally a military town until like 20 years ago when it opened up and became one of the most desirable places to live.
@laurencefarreng@MoDem@democrats_eu This is what happens when you minimize the concerns of your citizens and call them far right and Nazis. Inevitably, that is what eventually comes. What you thought was extreme then is nothing compared to what is about to come and many will be caught in the cross-fire.
@RoKhanna First of all, nothing wrong with government contracts. Private companies do the work. Two. Elon paid back the loans with interest in full. We actually made money.
The only way to stop the “conspiracy” theory about stolen elections is transparency. This is why voter ID should be a requirement and when it’s not it fosters doubt. I went to the zoo today. They asked for…drum roll….an ID.
Also, people can vote in person for weeks ahead of elections. No reason for anyone to miss out 98% of the time.

This ‘mathematical proof’ that AI will destroy the economy is a toy model stuffed with unrealistic assumptions:
• AI creates zero new jobs, tasks, or industries
• Massive cost cuts, but prices never fall (no demand boost)
• Laid-off workers vanish and never get reabsorbed
• Capital owners spend nothing and hoard every penny
Real economies are messy
@dubs9000@jacobin@zohranmamdani@Mileistesfr Yes you’re right, and there are countless measures. Countries with declining GDP per capita directionally over time do worse than ones that are increasing.
@Majick666@UltraDane Yeah this one is tough. High stress situation. Intervention in behalf of another..ish..situation. Definitely more wrong than right that’s for sure.
