Durante questo evento, noto come "occultazione" eclissi secondaria, possiamo misurare la luce della sola stella, quando il pianeta si muove dietro di essa, e la luce combinata della stella e del pianeta appena prima e subito dopo l'occultazione.
Grazie al @NASAWebb abbiamo scoperto la presenza di vapore acqueo nell'atmosfera di WASP-18b e realizzato una mappa della temperatura del pianeta mentre passava dietro la sua stella.
