One of them, Ms. Faith O., an NYSC Corps Member, shared:
“I now understand how vital vaccines are. Today, I helped ensure no child in my community was missed.”
This effort is supported by @Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, whose partnership helps strengthen monitoring systems and expand access to essential vaccines.

Every child deserves protection from measles and rubella. Yet too many are still being missed—particularly in underserved communities.
Enugu State has now successfully concluded Stream 2 of the Measles–Rubella (MR) Integrated Campaign, reaching more than 2.1 million children with lifesaving vaccines against measles, rubella, and cervical cancer.
To make this possible, the Enugu State Government, supported by @NPHCDA, @WHONigeria, @officialnyscng and partners, has trained and deployed 60+ independent monitors across all 17 LGAs.
These monitors play a critical role:
✅identifying missed children
✅strengthening real‑time data quality
✅flagging risks early
✅supporting equitable access to vaccines
Their work helps ensure no child is left behind.
6 million children protected. 12 million doses delivered. One goal: a future free from polio.
From January to October 2025, @WHONigeria, together with @UNICEF_Nigeria, @gatesfoundation, @gavi, @Rotary, and other partners, supported Federal and State Governments — led by @NPHCDA — to train and deploy over 11,000 vaccination teams across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states.
These teams reached over 31,000 settlements and 1,600 wards, delivering life-saving oral polio vaccines to children under five.
With @WHO’s technical guidance and surveillance support, every dose is a promise of protection and progress.
Thanks to donors and partners who made this possible.

Strengthening and Utilizing Response Groups for emergencies, the @WHOAFRO@AfricaCDC#AVoHC - #SURGE Flagship Initiative gets to the next level with the donation of 8 utility vehicles to the Federal Capital Territory Administration in Abuja today. This donation is part of @WHO efforts to build and strengthen capacities of first line responders. Coordinated through @NCDCgov in collaboration with the Directorate of Public Health @Fmohnigeria the initiative trained over 300 responders, establishing multidisciplinary response teams capable of being deployed within 24 hours of confirmation of a health emergency. The FCTA have since engaged these teams in responses to a number of outbreaks, including diphtheria outbreak, with FCT being the only constituency to have crashed the outbreak from its source and curtailed its spread. We are grateful to Dr Idris Jide, Director General @NCDCgov for gracing the event. Dr Moeti shares update on #monkeypox in #Africa.
“Parts of Africa may well have built up some immunity to monkeypox. But equal access to effective vaccines is critical to protect the continent’s particularly vulnerable populations, including health workers & contacts of cases."
Vaccines that protect against the flu or cervical cancer also keep adults healthy so that they can live a full life and enjoy time with the people they love. #LongLifeForAll
