@soleio The notion of luck seems to be a taboo in the heads and words of many successful people. Luck is hardly controlled so [I believe] they intently forget it happened. Luck seems to strike when we are most ready but most of us are not tuned to listen when it arrives.
My working hypothesis is that the generation that grew up with guitar hero & YT tutorials has now created thousands of guitarists that are the most technically gifted in history. But they can't create original music. Where are all the great new rock bands

Last Friday, myself and @cisco_raio successfully hosted the Upside Club 1st ever Founders Retreat @ Porto. ๐ต๐น
70 Founders, 1 room, 4 fireside chats.
I'm still digesting, but this day was probably one of the most rewarding ones of my career. And all without signing any contract or closing any lead โ simply by the joy of uniting like-minded people.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who attended, but especially to the Speakers and those who traveled from afar. We've had folks coming from Lisbon, Faro, Madrid, and Munich. ๐คฏ
Also, a special thanks to @Fitzgerald_JM and @PaddleHQ, who sponsored the event, and to @tjc_monteiro and @unsetstudio for covering it. A video is coming soon! ๐น
Until next time! ๐
One of the things you realise when you're freelancing is that there are a ton of smart, interesting people doing great work.
I think some companies have you believe that they are the only place to 'do the work of your life', but it just isn't true
@cisco_raio One of my friends sells services to more than 500 of these companies. They do want to sell online however, they 1) see everything as a cost rather than an investment, 2) they're happy with their returns, 3) hard to plug and play with *certified* accounting software with low fees
"There's a connection between the vibrance of a market, and the barriers to entry".
When a market is fully efficient, its hard to think outside the box and just go with the herd.
@andreasklinger If lying gets you a great story which consequently gets you fundraising, the incentive to getting a great story seems to be the perfect playground for fraud?
