Thank you to all those who supported me to be elected as a Reigate Ward borough councillor.
I want to do a good job for the area I love, and I canโt wait to get stuck in.
For now, Iโm looking forward to celebrating the rest of the Coronation weekend. Long live the King!
๐จ Important update below on proposals to move the Reigate Priory School to Woodhatch Place ๐จ
I will continue to do everything I can to represent parents and residents in Reigate in relation to this application.
My objection to the latest Priory School planning app ๐
I know I won't have captured all the problems in detail, but be rest assured I am making representations on all this directly, as well as through the planning process.

My latest update on the Priory School can be seen here: https://t.co/yMAxPG4AO8
Any move to Woodhatch Place is unacceptable. @SurreyCouncil should meet with @reigatebanstead urgently to discuss alternatives for the site.

@kate45248694@CTMorris23@ConHome Thank you @kate45248694. @CTMorris23, I still think the same on this issue as I did previously. A move to Woodhatch Place is not right for our residents or children. I will continue to resist it and represent parents the best I can.
I was pleased to write for @ConHome about my reflections of the recent General Election.
Most people are not party political. They just want to see delivery. In time, I hope the Conservatives will be the party to make Britain work again.
@SurreyCouncil@HateToHate@mpfurniss Iโm still pushing @SurreyCouncil for a permanent enforcement solution. Itโs nice to see grass is growing back now from this 2023 photo, but we need to ensure it stays that way.
๐ฃReigate Priory School๐ฃ
Proposals to keep the school on the current site need to be fully considered.
That is what I argued last night. Great to hear that the Borough Council will keep proactively urging Surrey CC to get round the table. As will I.

@HateToHate @CyclingSurrey @sophiearumble@reigatebanstead I have been raising the importance of getting EV charging points in the right places for some time, including Borough Council owned car parks. Will continue to raise accessibility and pavements with SCC.
If there was mischief in the office, it was likely Luke making it.
If there was a colleague in need of help, it was likely Luke offering it.
Luke was a former colleague and friend. Loyal, creative, intelligent and caring.
Heโll be greatly missed.
We're deeply sad to announce the tragic passing of Luke Mackenzie following a short illness. Mayor of Basildon, Basildon Borough Cllr for Pitsea SE since 2018 & Essex County Cllr for Pitsea since 2021. Friend to many & a dedicated servant of Basildon. He'll be sorely missed.
It isn't often I post about myself and it is even less often I talk about myself. But, the great team at @BritainLeads gave me the opportunity this week to chat about what makes me tick and why I care about contributing to our public life.
Do give it a listen! ๐ฃ
Ep 6: Conservative Councillor @FairhurstKate speaks on her rewarding role in local government, the wider considerations for women in politics, her aspirations for the justice system and safety in public life during unstable times internationally. https://t.co/WwmNiX91pF
Thank you @cwowomen for profiling me.
My political journey so far has been exciting, rewarding and full of different experiences. If anyone fancies dipping their toe into public life in 2024, I'll gladly share my thoughts and I'm sure CWO will be on hand to help too!
